Why did you stay with a cheater?

I’m curious.. did he change. 
Why even stay in the first place? How did the relationship change, do you regret staying?

I was stupid thought he would change. I became insecure and obsessive over looking for him cheating. He ended up cheating over 20 times in 5 years and we broke up on my 21st. I am now married to an amazing man who treats me right and loves me. I don't believe its worth staying with someone who cheats!

My husband was on a dating app, sending and receiving pictures. If it was anything physical I would have left. He cried and begged me to stay and we had a 4 month old baby so I kinda felt a little stuck and wanted to work it out for her. We went to couples counseling and both attended therapy on our own. He promised to change and he did, it took months to build the trust in our relationship back up but since then I haven't had that feeling that something was off. He's an amazing dad and most days he's a pretty great husband too, he made a shitty choice but he has changed.

I would probably take some time to myself, to think about everything and then I would decide if I can carry on, but people usually don't change unless they understand the mistake they did and how to "fix" that.

My friend stayed with her husband despite his cheating and drug use. He apologized. She got pregnant, he cheated again. She stayed. He’s cheated on her more times than I can count, and she continues to stay. She would come and cry to me about it, but refuses to leave because she doesn’t want to be alone and she thinks it’s better for the kids (it’s not, he neglects the shit out of these kids to the point where she didn’t trust him to be alone with the youngest one when he was a baby because he would legit ignore him).
I wouldn’t stay with someone who cheated. If he cheats, it’s over. No exceptions.

I stayed because I thought if I was good enough and did things right he would change. I stayed because I didn’t want the other girl getting the satisfaction of getting what I fought for. 
I left. Did he change? Nope. He cheats on her still.

we broke up for a year & a half , got back together & i made the first move.  i begged him to give me space for the longest to decide if i even still had those kinds of feelings for gum after being hurt the way i was even though he’d changed.  got pregnant 3 months after being back together 😅
