Getting period after over a year on Mirena?

Has anyone ever begin to have periods on the Mirena IUD after a year of not having any?

My back story:

So I’ve had The Mirena since November 2018. After about a week of having it in, my period stopped and never came back. I would occasionally spot, but never enough to even use a liner. I have also always cramped every month, but nothing unusual. I lost my strings by March 2019 and had to get an ultrasound to make sure it was still in place. Fast forward to Monday (4/20/20) I got a full blown period. It is now Wednesday and I’m still bleeding regularly.

I have reached out to my doctor and am waiting for a call back, but I am very nervous and I’m wondering if anyone has had similar issues or has any advice.
