Is Theo a good name by itself? Or can it only be a nickname?

If it is good only as a nickname, are there other names besides Theodore that it’s short for?

I much prefer just Theo than naming a kid Theodore and calling him Theo. Also I just love the name Theo

Speaking from personal experience, If you want the name Theo, just name him Theo. Everyone told me not to so I named my son Theodore with the intention of him being a Theo. Now pretty much everyone calls him Teddy. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I think it’s a good name by itself! I named my daughter Brooklyn and everyone always asks me If I’m going to call her Brook. I call her Brooklyn. That’s what I named her so that’s what i call her lol if you want to call him Theo i think it’s fine! Also my name is Kristina but No one calls me that ever. I go by Kristi.

Theo translates directly to God. In my opinion, it’s a little egotistic. 
For context, my son is Theodore. We don’t do nicknames.

Just name him Theo. I see no reason to name a child some full name if you're only going to call them a nickname of that full name. My best friends name is Nikki instead of having been named Nicole or whatever and going by Nikki.
