Hello all. I am currently 21 weeks and 2 days; and on my 20 week ultrasound, my baby had dilated kidneys, and an echogenic focus on his heart. We went over the ultrasound with my doctor and he said he did not see any birth defects, and baby is measuring normal so he was not worried. Well, I had to move to a different doctor at a more reputable hospital for personal reasons, and when I told her of the findings, she insisted on doing a genetic DNA blood test. I was not worried before, I was told that dilated kidneys are common, and that the echogenic focus would probably be gone by my third trimester. Now, because she insisted I had the test (even tho she is “sure it’s nothing”) I am an anxious mess. This is my first baby and I am only 20, I already don’t know what to expect and have just been taking it as it comes and learning as I can but even trying to stay positive while waiting for the test results is so hard. Do any of you mamas have any advice? Or experience with any of these things?
