Are you allergic to cheap earings? Like you can only wear gold ones

Like literally allergic to any earings that aren't gold or white gold? Whenever I buy those cheap fashion h&m or forever21 earings my ears always gets itchy then bruises. I feel like I'm allergic to alloy or something. Funny thing is that some of my cousins have the same issue. Wanted to know if anyone else experiences this?

People always act like I’m lying when I saw this until I put their fake ass ear rings into my ears and my ear swells up 5 minutes later. If I leave them in, puss will start oozing from my ear ring holes. And it hurts like fuck.

I am allergic to nickel, so anything that is nickel plated (which is most cheap or fake jewelry) will give me a rash.

No, thank goodness because I can't stand gold. My sister is though. She's got hypoallergenic silver earrings and just takes them out every few days, cleans them with alcohol and she seems to be coping fine.

You should be ok with hypoallergenic or sterling silver - most people are. Most cheaper products which aren't sterling silver or gold (not just "gold plated" though) are often really bad for reactions.
My mum Isa jewellery designer and so I have this conversation often with customers! Best to get sterling silver, or at least hypoallergenic.
But we all have different chemical make up of our skin and react differently!

Yep i get swelling, itching, and sometimes oozing. Even some earrings that say 'hypoallergenic' sometimes irritates me.

when i was younger, i used to be more sensitive to the material. my skin would swell, the hole would produce puss, and the skin connecting my ear to my head would be flakey. my mum has to buy me earrings from the chemist since those were kind that wouldn’t react with my skin. now that i’ve grown older, i feel like i have less skin problems. but i really do feel for people who go through this as it’s painful.
