Hey guys need some advice!!

My bf and i are super serious and have mature and healthy relationship. it’s just amazing. last night his parents had a serious talk with him about a few things, but one of them was that they found a condom wrapper in his room😳 they are super religious like i am, and they brought up some other things going on like his relationship with god was distant recently. my bf is taking this convo to heart which is good! i am left being so embarrassed and can’t help but feel guilty and like they will look at me differently! my bf is being amazing and comforting to me about it, but i still can’t get over the fact that i was the one that left it there and now we are in this situation! also with my bf being a little freaked out he wants to take a month break from sex, which lmk ur opinions but i feel will be a lot sooner than that i mean he is a guy lol. do i apologize to his parents and say there was no intent to disrespect them etc? or do i let this one go? has anyone ever had this issue i’d love to hear how it went!
