What a concieted and entitled attitude to have about a deadly pandemic. "We have tolerated the government's plan for a month". Well people have died and continue to get sick and die. You can take a few months out of your privileged lives to protect the vulnerable.

My state (Florida) is taking the first steps to open this week. I think the restrictions they’re putting in place are decently cautious. I’m concerned it’s too soon, but at least its not a free-for-all. 
Yet there’s selfish people who are demanding that we reopen with no restrictions whatsoever. I’m sick and tired of hearing “I need a mani-pedi!” “I need a haircut!” “My kid misses the zoo!” Like those things are important enough to risk lives over 🙄 
I get that many families are struggling financially and that the economy is suffering. I understand the fear of bills piling up and groceries needing bought. It’s such a scary, uncertain time. But opening too much too fast is going to do more damage to our health and safety AND to the economy. 
I don’t think this state not offering a plan is the issue. Ultimately, even with a plan, selfish people are going to still try to demand more and more with little regard to other human’s lives. They’ll use the poor families struggling to push their agenda while sacrificing them and the immune compromised at the drop of the hat because God forbid they can’t get a damn haircut.

I live in Illinois and all these people wanting to rally are fucking idiots. Instead of being pissed about not being able to get a haircut, be pissed about a federal government that passed a stimulus bill that bails out the rich and leaves everyone else to struggle and live off of $1,200 for 2 or more months.
$1,200 gets you NO WHERE if you live in/near Chicago. But you can bet your ass millionaires and companies are fine. If they were rallying about that I'd be on board, but they're not so 💁 like someone else said, I hope karma gets them and shows them that this isn't something to take so lightly.

I absolutely understand them wanting to discuss plans to reopen, but if you’re dumb enough to organize a “rally,” then right there it shows that you aren’t responsible enough to handle lessening restrictions.

Governors, doctors, nurses, etc. weren’t given a “how to” book on how to deal with the virus and its repercussions. Opening states is a scary idea to some as the idea of a second wave is looming.

I’ll always support the right to protest, but they need to do it carefully and be mindful, but they won’t. 
I heard the governor of Illinois was sued by a Congressman in southern Illinois (I think, I haven’t looked it up because I’m lazy and I couldn’t care less about Illinois) due to extending the restrictive stay at home order, and the judge ruled in favor of the Congressman. 
I think it should be a choice to stay home and it shouldn’t be forced. I also think if employees who work for non essential businesses (same with essential employees) should have the choice to not work if they don’t feel comfortable with it. 
It’s a sticky situation we are still trying to get a handle on, unfortunately, but I agree we can’t keep state and federal governments/economies closed.

I don’t know the easy answer to this. If the economy is not reopened, people will lose their home and won’t be able to put food on the table. We will go into a depression or recession, and there have always been deaths during those. I think we need to find a safe way to gradually open the economy back up.
