A hairstyle or cultural appropriation

I'd like to know where everyone stands on things like white people (or whatever race/culture you want to say doesn't traditionally wear their hair in certain styles) wearing things like dreads or braids in their hair?

Do you feel it is cultural appropriation and actually disrespectful to the culture of origin? Or do you feel it's just hair and you don't have to be a certain race or culture to enjoy a hairstyle?

Personally I think it's kinda stupid people get so upset about how someone else styles their own hair. It's just hair to me and if I like the way a style looks I'll try it, I don't feel like I have to be a certain race to have my hair styled the way I want and I think it's crazy people jump to call others racist or say that person what's to be another race because they wear their hair a certain way.

*side note: I'm not talking about head coverings that are for religion, just hair
