Cyst on ovary

Hi all, so about two months ago I landed up in a&e due to being in agony with my stomach and back due to this I’ve had blood test and ultrasound. Today I got a letter to say that I have a small cyst on my left ovaries and that they’re going to send me to a gynaecologist. I was just wondering what I should expect? What will the gynaecologist do?

We’ve also been trying to get pregnant for a long time and now I’m worried that I haven’t been able to due to the cyst.
