Late ovulation...late period?

Question

Will my period come late if I ovulated late? I should’ve ovulated around the 16th April, but I actually ovulated on the 23rd. My cycle is 26 days, however I’m now 3 days late for period, I’ve taken a test and it’s negative. I’m never late for my period, but could it be down to ovulating late?
