What about iron? What about vitamins?

I throw up my prenatals every night now for two nights. I also can't take my iron cause it makes me extremely sick. First time mommy what do I do? Will this improve? I take nausea medicine and zofran is not helping so they called me something else in. Then I had bad sight effects to it. Will this effect my baby. I am trying to do what is best for my baby but not eating is not good for him/her either!

First of all GET OFF THE ZOLFRAN!!! there is a huge lawsuit about birth defects associated with it. Ask about Diclegis.

Second, take gummy prenatals instead of the pills. They absorb into the body faster than pills so even if you throw them up they will have achieved more than traditional pills. My midwife only recommends over the counter gummies for mom's like us with horrible morning sickness.

try to eat first. if I don't eat, I throw it back up. Take it when you eat dinner. or eat crackers when you take it before bed and make sure to wash it down good. The "stuck in my throat" feeling usually triggers my nausea

Oh iron makes me have a head ache so bad and sick so does prenatal but I just started the chewy prenatal and they don't even make me sick at all plus they taste pretty good

Also try taking them separately instead of at the same time. Maybe the combo is too much for your body at once.

Have you tried a plant based prenatal. I've always been anemic and   Could not stand the side effects of iron. I am taking Rainbow Light (has iron) prenatal and before I took Maga Food blood builder for  my anemia. Good Luck.

Sometimes your body just makes enough iron for you. You don't *need* it unless your blood tests show it. That's why when you take prenatals before pregnancy you technically are supposed to consult with a doctor because the extra iron can make you sick. I was throwing up violently when taking prenatals with iron and I switched to those first response gummies that have both folic acid and DHA and haven't had any nausea since.
