Girl Magic?
First, I’m pissed because my original post disappeared before I had the chance to post it, so I have to write this all over again. Really wish there was a “drafts” function on here by now. No this isn’t a rant post.
Second, I have a culture-related question that I am asking with sincerity, as a means of understanding. I believe this is controversial because there is always a degree of controversy when one seeks to understand another’s culture, whether the intentions are pure or not (@ me). My intentions are pure and this question literally just came to mind (the 1st time I wrote it, that is 😅).
My Q: I know “Black Girl Magic” when I see it, but what constitutes “White Girl Magic” to white women? I know there won’t be one uniform opinion about this and there shouldn’t be. I am asking - if you are a white woman, as a white woman, what do you count as “White Girl Magic”? Is it a fun TikTok that goes viral? A Women’s March on Washington in pink “P*ssy Hats? Is it Karlie Kloss being a model, a STEM advocate, and Kushner wife all at once? Please share your truth. 🙏🏾
In fairness, since I’ve asked the question, I am happy to answer it too. I can only answer relative to Black Girl Magic, as a Black woman of African and Afro-Latinx decent. ♥️
If you’ve seen a similar question and this post irks you, please just kindly move on and don’t respond. If people respond, it’s because they wanted to. We’re all trying to talk about something we’re interested in on a quarantined Saturday. Please don’t patrol this. 🙏🏾
