How did you start potty training your baby? & @ what age?

I tried 3 times with my son and all I got out of it was frustration. When he was about 3 1/2 one day it just clicked in his head and started using the toilet every time. He had a few night time accidents from time to time for about a month after but that was it. Explain to them what everything is in the bathroom and how it all works and start taking them in every time you go so they see you do it. Then let them do it in their time frame. It will happen I promise.

Started at 22 months! Bought her a cool little potty and sat it beside the big potty!! I also bought a ring to fit the big potty so she could use it and feel like a big girl!! Thank God for those for all I would have to say is do you gotta pee? She would say only in the big girl potty!! It took a good 2 weeks before she started pulling her own pants down and trying her hardest to climb up on the big potty! Needless to say she used her potty maybe 5 times!!!

My son is 20months and shows no interest in using the potty, I try and sit him on it every time before his bath but he's just too busy to stop. I think girls pick it up easier than boys. Once he starts to understand more and slows down with his busyness I think it will click!

My son started expressing interest in going to school, so I told him that he can only go to big boy school if he does pee in the potty all the time. That was the last day of diapers, except for bedtime. He was 2.5 years.

I've actually known some who started training young BABIES to use the toilet, obviously not unassisted but I have no idea how they went about it..

You have to let them take the reins. Every kid is different.  If they are interested in the potty or they tell you when they need changed then start.  I stated by putting my daughter in panties and making her try and go potty every 10-15 minutes until she went then it was every hour.  When they do use it throw a little play party. Play it up and give enthusiastic praise so they know that that is what they are supposed to do.  Don't get mad if they have an accident because it is going to happen.  My daughter has just turned 3 and she wanted to go to preschool that coming fall so i told her she had to potty train in order to go to school. she potty trained in 3 days except for nap time and bed time.  We are still working on that she is 3 and 4 months.
