I’ve been kinda keeping up with this story, initially started on a podcast channel I follow on IG then trickled into news articles. 
Current reports are saying that Kim isn’t dead and was never in poor health to begin with, however there is still speculation that this may be a cover up. 
So I thought it’d be an interesting (2 part) discussion here in CC.

In the odd chance, NK recent press releases are fake, do you believe the us if not the world is at threat for nuclear distraction or war?  Or do you believe the people of NK would be rejoicing and fight for freedom?

I am speaking completely from theory- but i think he’s alive. Just not mentally the same. I think that’s why they’re being so dodgy.

Nah. The Kims always do this. Disappear for a few weeks then show back up. I’m pretty sure Kim il-Sung and Kim Jong-il did the same.

He isn’t dead, however I am wondering why these rumours started in the first place

I dont think hes dead, most likely he either had a medical procedure done or is hiding from the coronavirus. Either are much more likely than a man in his 30s dying. Since N. Korea is so secretive i have to believe the most likely explanation.

1) possibly Kim created virus and China is being blamed for it so China has him and is demanding he say it was him. 
2) he created the virus and he is running from it or caught it. 
3) he is doing Cocsine with hookers in a resort.

It's very clearly not him in those pictures. Unless you're face blind to Asians then I dont see how anyone can buy that its him.

I think their media is overplaying this to make it seem like there's a big mystery because they want to distract people because everyone is talking about how there's "no covid cases in North Korea". Like they said omg he is overweight an smokes. Uh okay? So does more than  half of Americans 😒. According to the news, this wouldn't be the first time they tried to make a big mystery out of nothing for attention.

My brother lives in South Korea, him and his girlfriend tell me there’s rumors of his death over there every other month. So he possibly isn’t 🤷🏻‍♀️

I think it’s more likely he is scared of Covid and is isolated and they have sent out a look alike. If he died, his sister would be taking over, right? And she doesn’t look like the type of woman to take a back seat if she feels she is owed the “crown”.
