What’s one piece of advice you’d give your younger self?

I’m currently trying to get to know myself a bit better and doing some reflection on my 18 years of life. I was just wondering; if you could give your younger self a piece of advice, word of encouragement, affirmation.. Anything! What would you say to them.

I have plenty of regrets and would write myself a NOVEL of advice if I could.   
Focus on school and nothing more. Start thinking about college earlier. High school boys are not worth it, so stop investing so much time in finding love. Stop worrying so much about popularity and what people think of you. There’s nothing wrong with having a small circle, after all, all you have is yourself at the end of the day. Stand up for yourself more and stop being a doormat. Lastly, you are beautiful even with your acne.

Don’t be afraid to say no. I’ve never regretted saying no. I’ve only regretted saying yes. 
Don’t stay in a relationship because it comfortable. Stay because you feel valued and are treated right. 
Everyone’s milestones will not happen at the same time as yours. This doesn’t mean something is wrong.  Everyone grows differently and has different milestones. 
Don’t feel pressured to have kids. They aren’t for everyone.
School isn’t for everyone. You can have a successful life and career without school.
Don’t let others change who you believe you should be. Listen to their advise but take it with a grain of salt.

I'm only 15 and I'd give my younger self(13) the advice of "say no to that scumbag that asked you out at school the first day, all he'll do is hurt you and ruin your life and dignity and ability to love anyone again" it's a long story but he did things, unspeakable things that no one knows and I know for a fact he ruined my life and I'll never be the the same I was before I met him. I gave him 11 and half months of my life, he was my first everything! "So younger self turn around and walk away from him and never look back no matter what he trys to say and get you to do🤦🏼‍♀️🙏🏻"

Your appearance does not define your self worth. While it’s good to take pride in your appearance and look after yourself, it should be for you and not for anyone else. Achieving milestones, meeting your goals and growing your own self interests and skills will give you a greater sense of self confidence than fitting into that tiny dress (although that was great) ever did. Life ebbs and flows, go with it, things will come right eventually, but be patient and kind to yourself. The fact that you are YOU is enough. X

Stay single until you’re 41, none of them are worth it, they’re all assholes who are just gonna abuse and use you and all of them will cheat on you. Focus on school, popularity and guys aren’t worth it. You are better off alone than in bad company. Do not seek acceptance or approval from others, learn to love yourself, pamper yourself, date yourself and appreciate yourself. Life is what you make it, if you aren’t happy, you change what you can, and what you can’t change, you learn to love, accept and embrace yourself flaws and all. Treat yourself with the same love and respect that you give to others. Happiness comes from within as does self esteem and self worth and confidence. A man doesn’t complete you or define you or your happiness, you do. The number on the scale or the size of your pants doesn’t define you or your happiness either. You deserve better. Never allow loneliness or desperation be the reason that you settle for less than you deserve. Don’t depend on anyone for your happiness or you will surely be let down. He’s not worth it. You are.
