PAINFUL sex all of a sudden!

After being apart for 5 weeks because of corona, my boyfriend and I met up and had sex last night...but it did not go as planned. For some reason as soon as he put it in it felt really uncomfortable, painful and like my vagina was really dry and being stretched. We were using loads of lube as well! We have NEVER had this problem before and even when I had sex with him for the first time (which was also my first time having sex) I barely experienced any pain. But last night the pain was so bad we had to stop!

I had just finished my period and thought maybe I was just a bit dry after 5 days of period but it couldn’t have been that because we used a tonne of lube!! I thought maybe after 5 weeks my vagina had like shrunken or something, and his dick is big so I thought maybe that was it but we have never had a problem with that before.

The only other things I can think of that have changed between now and 5 weeks ago is that I’ve been going through some bad bouts of anxiety and depression but tbh, it was worse before and the sex was unaffected .

I keep looking it up and it says it’s called Vaginismus but isn’t that like because of a fear of sex?
