Fertility treatment to resume in UK
Today our government announced that fertility clinics can apply to resume services with changes to maintain safety for patients and staff.
I think this is fantastic, having had miscarriages myself after having my daughter and myself possibly needing help to conceive again, I am pleased to hear this news and I feel for all the couples out there who had treatments postponed after waiting for so long and going through so much!
However I have seen some very nasty comments on different social media platforms that peoplethink this was the worst move to make and that anyone trying for a baby in current times is irresponsible!
They keep comparing it to other services like certain operations and clinics that haven't resumed, saying this should have been one of the last things to start up again. People saying that its taking away from NHS funding for other areas and increasing attendances to hospitals etc
From my understanding alot of IVF is done privately and in clinics away from hospitals? But even if they are done in hospitals they don't tend to be next to A and E or cancer wards 🤦♀️
I'm curious as to what others on here think 🤔
