Can friends with benefits turn into a real relationship?

Current in this type of relationship, and it seems like its starting to become more serious. Wondering if you all think it could actually work, and get your thoughts.

It can happen, and does happen I'm sure. But I would be careful. If you feel this way, I urge you to communicate with him. Tell him how you feel, and ask how he feels. Its best to be honest and lay it all out on the table, than get your hopes up because you think it's somethin more when it's not. I don't want you to get hurt, and I'm sure you don't want to get hurt either. I would talk to him about it 😊

Hi well i am 20 yrs old and i had gotten out of a 3 yr relationship and had sex once with a friend i knew since middle school. Itwasonly suppose to be a one time thing that turned into a second time then a third so on so forth. And everything was going good but after months later we decided to go out and it was good for a while. So yes i think it can turn into a relationship BUT be on the same level make sure the other wants a relationship as well. But if you guys are not then stay friends with benefits/exclusive until you guys are on same page

A friend with benefits is a FRIEND with benefits. This means you should be able to communicate with him/her well (because how are you good enough friends to have casual sex if you guys can't talk about serious stuff?).

A fwb can turn in to something more - but it's not intended to. A fwb set up is intended for sex. Sex =/= love. Women especially usually have a difficult time with refraining from forming feelings once sex is involved. Meaning guys don't have a difficult time with this at all.

So you really should discuss this with your friend and make sure you're both on the same page.

I use to have a friend with benefits for 5mths while in a crappy relationship.. Broke up with my boyfriend and tried to get with my FWB but it didn't work out because we liked to play and joke and fight and talk bout each other.. So changing that would have ruined us.. And still to this day he will always be just my friend because I'm married now..

I can tell you from my experience with that type of relationship I had one that went on as friends with benefits for three months we dated for a year broke up sent back to the friends part and was on again off again for two years. I am not saying that all of it turns out this way but like the lady said before me talk to him. Also be careful about going into a relationship like that.
