How do you dress an infant to a funeral?

Please no judgment. My husband’s uncle took his life tonight. We don’t even know if we can have a service in person, or online but either way how would you dress a 4 month old? I need to order something ASAP so it comes in time for the service. Since everything is shut down I have limited options.

Honestly I doubt anyone would think anything of it no matter how he is dressed. If you want to dress him up more than his normal attire maybe khaki pants and a collared shirt.

Dress them nicely but dont feel like you have to adhere to dark colors.
And just for the record....
Dont let ANYONE shame you for bringing your baby to the funeral. I brought my 2 year old to my beloved grandmother's funeral, she was a huge part of my LOs life and I felt like she deserved to be there....you would not believe the shitty things people said to me. Judged me right to my face during one of the most difficult times in my life and made me question my decision. 
Please dont allow someone who isnt in your shoes to affect you in that way. Be well, I hope this time is as easy as possible. ❤

My son was 8 months when my sister in law took her own life. I bought him a black tuxedo jacket with a white collared shirt, then he just wore regular comfortable black cotton pants that I had from Carter’s which fit him well since all of the tuxedo pants seemed uncomfortable and didn’t fit quite right. Since he wasn’t walking yet I didn’t put shoes on him, but I bought him some socks that looked like shoes. It was one of the worst moments of my life, but my son looked so cute and definitely brought some much needed smiles, especially for my mother in law. I’m sorry for your loss.

I wouldn’t even worry about it unless your family has specific traditions. Personally, I would just put him in the most comfortable outfit I already owned, with neutral or plain colours being a bonus. The more comfortable he is the less likely you are to have to deal with him fussing and making a scene during proceedings so I would go with something soft that he’s familiar with (even if you are buying another of his fav outfits in a more funereal colour). 
Black might be a bit uncommon for babies but you could go white/cream or perhaps navy if you wanted to keep it subdued.

I would just do a dark solid colour inside and dark tights/pants. Like navy, dark green, dark grey if you can fine black. I would rather have a quiet happy baby in navy than a screaming unhappy one in a fake "suit" that doesn't fit right and is uncomfortable. Can't really see anyone question what a 4month old is wearing, and a funeral isn't a place where people take pictures either.

Where I am, it's customary for babies and small children to wear white or silver/grey at funerals

I wore a floral black dress and dressed my daughter in a pretty pink fluffy dress for my grandmother's funeral. I don't think babies have to dress in dark colors.
