If you’re baby goes somewhere else while you work (obs before lockdown), would you want them to tell you if you’re LO did/said something for the first time?

I’m really just interested to see what people think? 
I go back to work in a couple of months and am feeling quite nervous that LO will do or say something for the first time while I’m not there, like walking! I’m not sure if I’d want to be informed (knowing I missed it) and see it for the ‘first’ time when they’re with me. Or, if I’d just rather know when he does something new as I hate the thought of being kept in the dark about something regarding my own baby? 🤔
I’d love to hear your thoughts!

I saw a post on here where grandparents recorded their granddaughter’s first steps and showed mom. The comments were so horrible like how they were shitty grandparents for encouraging her to walk, they should have pushed the baby down, they shouldn’t have recorded it, they were pretty much bragging that they got to see her first steps, etc. 
Honestly, if my son were to take his first steps while I wasn’t there, I would be sad, but I wouldn’t be devastated. I would be so happy and proud of him! I always remind myself how much my husband misses out on because he works long hours and I’m thankful for what I do see. 
If my son takes his first steps with his grandparents, I can only hope they record it and show me or they tell me so I can work on practicing with my him more. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I might have an unpopular opinion, but my son will do things when and where he wants and I don’t want to discourage that.

Maybe it's just because I worked in daycare for so long, but I wouldnt want to know. I worked for a center that you could be written up or fired for spoiling first moments for the parents. I think it's respectful to let the parents have their baby's first moments.

When I worked at a day nursery I was very careful with things like this. If a baby took their 1st steps I would say something like "oh their so close to walking aren't they". I think you have to be mindful of peoples feeling. If they asked me flat out I couldn't lie xx

I would want to know. The teachers at our daycare pretty much told me they generally don’t tell people when babies have their first whatever because they don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings, but I told them to tell me. They do, but sometimes hesitate. It is what it is, I’d rather know what my baby is doing so that I can track her growth.

My mother in law ran a daycare from her home and she sometimes witnessed those moments. She would keep quiet and pretend it didn't happen, wouldn't report it to the parents, and let the parents find out for themselves so they can have the excitement. Personally I would want that too. Keep me blissfully ignorant, let me think that I saw it first. 
If it's between when my husband watched our daughter and when I watch her though, we say if we saw something new. I have been with her more than he has lately so I take a video of anything new I see if I can get her on camera.
