Is raw honey safe during pregnancy?
Everything I’ve read says that it’s unsafe for babies because their digestive systems are not strong enough to handle the spores found in honey. Adults do have strong enough systems and can eat it whether or not they are pregnant. The risk for botulism is extremely low and even if the mother did get it, the molecules are too heavy to cross the placenta, meaning the mother could not give it to her unborn baby. That’s what I’ve gathered from researching it, but does anyone have any further information? Maybe conflicting information? Or heard from a doctor on it?
