First time

Hey, so I have had sex a couple of times with my boyfriend and everyone said the first time would hurt, but it’s was almost unbearable pain I had to stop. I’ve tried a few times more and have the same outcome. Super painful and even swollen the next day. I was wondering if this has happened to anyone else before and if anyone has ideas on what could help. I just don’t want to keep going through all that pain with the same results.
