Plans for post delivery and visitors

Sa

I’m pregnant with my second baby. My son is almost two and I’m nervous about visitors during the coronavirus pandemic touching and holding baby. With my son, everyone came within the first two weeks to meet him and hold him. I was pretty relaxed, but still had people wash their hands before holding him and no one could come sick.

This time around I am undecided on what to do and my husband is really nervous about having anyone over once we get home from the hospital. What is your plan? Are you letting family and friends over to hold baby right away and take the same precautions you would take outside of a pandemic? Are you only letting close family or immediate family the first couple weeks? Are you waiting several weeks or months to introduce baby to certain people or anyone? If you are waiting in amount of time, how long are you waiting? Just curious what everyone’s plan is. I live in Washington state and my state is gradually beginning to reopen in phases this month but it is likely by July 6th (my due date) a lot of things will be reopened again and groups of five or less will be allowed to get together. I’m thinking that at the very least friends and more distant family members won’t be invited over to meet baby for at least a couple weeks, but I just don’t know how long to wait.
