Stool softener?

How long should I take a stool softener after giving birth? I had a second degree tear in the back so it is still quite painful to have a bowel movement. Gave birth 5 days ago

Once it doesn't hurt to poop lol. I took it for several weeks until I was no longer in pain

I took mine for a couple of weeks at least. I made sure I was eating lots of fiber and drinking lots of water before stopping them.

I’m 19 weeks postpartum and still taking them. I eat very healthy and still get backed up.

I think I took it for 11 days, until it didn't hurt to go or sit down. Of course ask your doctor though :) congrats, and have a speedy recovery!
