Anyone out there ever been or diagnosed now with P.I.D???

I'm wondering just how common this infection really is in women! There are numerous ways to contract pelvic inflammatory disease, Sti's (untreated) iud, untreated vaginitis, surgery, leaving tampons in too long,etc,etc! It seriously effects the reproductive organs and blocks your fallopian tubes which can result in infertility! If you've had this, comment your journey through it, what you had to take to rid it of your body, and if you could still conceive or had trouble conceiving? Share your story if so! Thanks ladies and no offense to anyone I'm just baffled that something like this can destroy your chances of having a bundle of joy!!!
