What kind of underwear is best after a vaginal birth?

I am almost always most comfortable in a thong, I only wear Meundies. I’ve always had a bit of a tummy and I’m worried that high waisted panties will be unnecessary and just roll down. Tempted to buy some disposeable but figured it would also be smart to have some real ones in the go bag.
What did you use?

As I call them, granny panties. They aren’t tight but cover everything and are perfect for the massive pads you wear after labor. 
I also only wear thongs but these are comfy for a situation like this.

I wear thong-style Thinx underwear for my cycle and have two or three pairs of full coverage as well and was wondering if that would be good post-delivery. I plan on doing Depends at the hospital and for the first bit too just for ease.

For the first 2-6 weeks postpartum you are bleeding. To me, it felt like a scary smelly war zone down there and I didn’t want anything near it. I used the mesh (disposable) underwear from the hospital but I needed more than they gave me so I bought some on Amazon. By the time I was done bleeding I was ready to wear my usual underwear, but I hate thongs so I’m not sure if I would be wearing that or not if that was my ‘regular’ underwear

I wore depends while in the hospital but once I got home I wore my regular underwear. I don't wear thongs anymore. I usually wear boy shorts or hipsters. I had a vaginal delivery so I don't have to worry about an incision that could get irritated

The waist band didn’t really matter to me. I just wanted something fuller coverage in the back for the pad I was wearing. I also had horrible hemorrhoids and anything “cheeky” that went in between my butt cheeks irritated them even more. I just used the mesh underwear in the hospital and my regular underwear when I got home.

Wear the disposable the hospital gives you then make sure you have comfortable ones at home. I had high waisted ones during pregnancy so I wore them for a while but I also had an emergency c section so prepare for everything.

Wear disposable undies until your bleeding tapers down to a normal period amount. Then use whatever you’re most comfortable in. The first two weeks are the worst. After that you should be able to use whatever you want.

After a vaginal delivery wear Depends. Once you’re done bleeding/healing you can go back to wearing whatever underwear you wore before you were pregnant.
