Help with benefits?

Can anybody help me understand what and how much benefits I would get if I was to be let go from my job. I am in council housing associan.. with 2 kids (12 and 5months) and on my own. thing is I am due back at my current job from maternity leave in july. Where I work atm they are going to be expecting me to work the night finishes 10pm.. Which will be impossible for me to do due to childcare. Babys dad works away and his family live 1hour drive away and also work. My family also work so I'm stuck. Unless I can find something before I'm due to go back that can accommodate me. Which with the way the world is atm I find that will be quite hard. My current employer will no way at all give me day shifts as they have people to cover them now. Its not that I dont want to work. Iv worked since I was 16year old and enjoy working but I need to know were I stand money wise incase they have to let me go and I cant find anything else for a good few months.
