Anyone that has done ivf if you got pregnant did anyone have an issue where there uterus had a small tear?? I’m currently almost 9 weeks and at my 8 week check up they found a very small tear doctor told it was common and wasn’t worried about it said it would more than likely heal it’s self and just told me to take it easy. But lordy it’s so hard not to worry about it I’m so scared and stressed about it.

Hi there! Do you mean a subchorionic hematoma/hemorrhage? If so, yes I had this! My OB described it as a piece of the placenta detached slightly or shifted, causing a blood cot to form. Everything was fine and then suddenly at about 9 1/2 weeks, I started bleeding pretty heavily. No cramps though. I thought for sure I was miscarrying. It was so so scary. I’ll be honest, it was the scariest, most stressful part of my entire pregnancy. The ER checked me out and couldn’t find the source of bleeding, did an ultrasound and to my surprise the baby was just fine! They just diagnosed me with a threatened miscarriage. A couple days later I followed up with my OB. She did an ultrasound and she saw the SCH right away. She said it was one of the larger ones she has seen. Apparently it can be more common with IVF. But that most do go on to heal themselves and no issues with baby. She was honest with me though and told me to be cautiously optimistic. I continued to have bleeding episodes and then spotting for a couple weeks and then it just stopped! I was considered high risk and she did weekly ultrasounds on me for several weeks just to make me feel better and to monitor it. Eventually it got smaller and almost undetectable on US. And baby was always perfect! All cases are different. Some women never bleed at all, or may just spot a little. They may just have a small one. But most do heal themselves and are never a problem! I can’t sit here and tell you not to worry because I totally get it. But know that it’s not uncommon at all and usually it heals itself as the pregnancy progresses! :)

Yes I know I was a huge worrier too! Especially with going through IVF. It definitely sounds like yours is super small, it may even be healed by your next appointment! I think my OB was overly cautious with me because I was so stressed and anxious about it and the extra ultrasounds made me feel better! Try not to stress too too much about it. I will seriously heal itself your body knows what to do. Congratulations on your pregnancy! Such a happy feeling isn’t it?!🥰🥰🥰

I’ve only had spotting twice so praying no more! Doctor just said it was very small tear but didn’t see any blood or anything just a small tear! Told me not to worry but I worry about everything 🤦🏻‍♀️ just wish he hadn’t told me! But he said he wasn’t worried about it said it was barely a 1. He did tell me no sex. But thank you for letting me know it helps sooo much more I don’t see my OB until the 22nd but I’ll see him my ivf doctor on the 20th so praying it’s healed by then!

I forgot to mention, during all of this, I was put on pelvic rest, meaning no sex or anything too strenuous. I was on pelvic rest for quite awhile, maybe until 20 + weeks. Just keep this in mind!
