How do you store your child's clothes in their closet?

Question

We just moved, and little one has a small walk in closet (maybe 3x5, long and skinny).  It doesn't make sense to put a dresser inside the closet because it's too tight to really open the drawers (and there isn't space for it in his room). Open shelves do not seem practical for little kid clothes. 
What are the alternitives?? Post pictures of your child's closet for inspiration!

We hang shirts, overalls, and rompers. Everything else is in cubicles with the little bins so that my son can’t just go and throw everything on the floor.

Stuff he fits in goes in dresser. Stuff he does not is in plastic bins or hung. Closet is a mess piled high with baby stuff he outgrew lol

Every few months I change out the stuff that is too small. I take all the clean stuff and put them in those big ziplock bags that you suck the air out. I'm having another boy so these items will be used again sooner than later. But the stuff he can use is in his dresser and closet. Separate pieces in the dresser and complete outfits in the closet.

I got a lot of ideas from Pinterest. You can also hang like 3 onesies off of 1 clothes hanger by putting them upside down and buttoning them.

We have small plastic dressers we use but we have a pretty big closet. When we lived in our last home with a small sliding door closet we used the cubicle boxes and set them on the shelves. Separated as needed (ie short sleeve, long, pants etc.) they do make closet storage shelves you can purchase if you wanted to but I thought the cubbies did just fine
