Passion is gone, is it time to say good bye?

I’ve been with my husband for 8 years and married for 2. I love him so much and don’t think I want a life with anyone else, but the sex and passion is gone, I’m not sure when it left but it’s been years. We started trying for a baby over a year ago and now sex just isn’t fun anymore and we hardly have any, some times it feels like I’m begging for sex.....

Seems like there’s a disconnect between y’all but doesn’t seem like it’s ground for divorce..? I mean personally I would be trying all possible things to bring that back so long as my partner was on the same page and wanting the same. Have you tried talking to him about it..?

There is more going on if sex has changed. Try putting less emphasis on sex. Start rekindling your communication and and overall relationship. Then you will find out what the problems are and the sex will be more enjoyable.

I don't mean this to be harsh, but I think what you're experiencing is pretty normal. Every relationship has highs and lows. It's not going to romance and passion all the time, but a dry spell doesn't mean the relationship is over, it just means you need to work at it, communicate, figure out what the issue is, and choose to work together to fix it. Trying to conceive is stressful, especially if there are any fertility issues are involved. Having to plan sex instead being able to be spontaneous can suck the life right out of a relationship, but you can recover it. It's good to take a break from ttc now and then and just focus on each other for a bit. Marriage counseling is also nothing to be ashamed of. Marriages can and do survive dry spells and rough patches. Yours can too.

We've been through a similar bout in our marriage before. I wouldn't walk away because of it. I know that for us the pressure to perform was a real turn off for him, and he felt inadequate because he felt like he couldn't give me what I needed. Sometimes it's good to remember that there's two people in the relationship and needs flow both ways. I backed off and am trying to focus on being a better wife all-around and supporting him as needed, and things have gotten so much better. It's about the relationship, not the sex (though I appreciate the sex when we have it). Perhaps backing off the pressure with ttc and everything might be beneficial. We're ttc, but more like "not preventing" because we didn't want the pressure to turn our sex life into a chore... sorry you're going through that though, I know how much of a pain that can be.

Maybe try counseling or some kind of couples retreat when the world opens back up. Or even just a small get away to a hotel and order in some dinner or something. Best of wishes to you
