How often is ok to feed kids fast food?

I think “okay” is just different for everyone. We used to eat it more often when I commuted for work. Now that I work 2 minutes from home we eat out once a week and do “fast food” twice a month probably.

There isn’t really a clear answer to this question. It greatly depends on the situation of the family. Do they have a place to cook fresh food? Do they have access to fresh food? What are the other obstacles preventing them from making meals at home? It all really depends on many things.

I think it mostly depends what ELSE is in your child’s diet.. once a week wouldn’t alarm me if they were otherwise eating pretty healthy complete meals the rest of the time.. it’s entirely possible to eat as badly as fast food at home depending on what meals are given.

It depends. Do you have enough money and time to feed them something more nutritious? Is the child already overweight/obese or do they have other health conditions that could worsen with greasy/fatty fast food? How old is the child? Etc. 
I very, very rarely get my kids fast food. Maybe once every 2-3 months. But I am a stay at home mom, so I have the time to make them them homemade/nutritious meals. My husband makes enough money that we can afford enough groceries for me to do that. Neither of my children are overweight or obese and eating fast food every once in a while isn't really going to negatively impact them. 
It may be okay for one family to do it a lot because they don't have the time or money to do better. And may be worse for another family to do it the same amount of they are capable (time and money wise) of providing something better and they already have children with health problems caused by eating too much fast/junk food.

If you are able to provide them with something else, maybe once a month or for special occasions.
If you are not, you have to feed your kid and fast food is cheap and easy. So do what you have to.

I think it really depends on the kids.
Some kids are more prone to being overweight so obviously they shouldn’t have it very often at all. But if the kids metabolism can take it then having it a little more frequently would be okay

We don’t eat fast food or eat out often, maaaaaaybe once a month and then it’s a locally owned place, not fast food. We only eat fast food when we travel. So for us, I voted “never.” I don’t really care what other families do, tbh. 
We have the privilege to grow our own produce and have time to cook. So, we take advantage of it.

If I had small kids, I would probably do fast food as a treat once a month. My parents took us to Dairy Queen about that often when I was a kid and it was a big deal for us. Back then, you used to get a plastic coin for a free sundae if you got a full meal deal. My sisters and I would sometimes save up our coins so we could take our parents out for ice cream. I have a lot of good memories from those DQ trips, such as my dad stealing the curl on my ice cream cones and Dilly bars - or Silly bars, as he called them. 😂

The way we see it in our household is that if food has good nutrition in it, it's healthy. Good protein, vitamins, etc. That's what I'm teaching my 3 year old for now. I'll teach them it's a bit more complicated than that later on. We have very very little sugar or sweet tasting things. But we get fast food about once a week, sometimes more. But at the same time we go all out to make an elaborate breakfast and elaborate dinner every day. Lunch not so much lol but we all need a break sometimes.
