Is it weird to make an online registry and put it on social media?

Okay so hear me out. Lol. This is our third child and we aren’t expecting anything. We’ve honestly been buying for her since I found out it was a girl. So i do feel pretty good and stable with what we have for her...Well with that being said this is our first daughter and with covid 19 there won’t be a baby shower happening. (Which I’m totally fine with) ... any who more and more people have been asking me if I have a registry. Which we don’t , so now I’m contemplating making one. But in my head I’m like is that weird to put it on FB? I don’t know I guess with everything going on I just feel weird asking? But it’s just easier to put it on social media since all our friends and family still live in CA and we live in Tx. What do you ladies think? Weird or no?

I would make a registry and give it to anyone who asks but I personally think it’s really tacky to post it on FB especially since this is your third child. But that’s just a personal opinion.

I wouldn’t post it. Posting it seems like you are asking for gifts and seems a little off putting. If you guys are fine with what you have then let them know that you don’t need anything. If you want gifts then maybe create a registry and if people ask you can give it to them personally.

This is my third and also first girl, and we weren’t planning a shower or anything, COVID or not. Some people have bought us some pink outfits, but I don’t understand showers for additional kids, regardless of gender. We made registries because we want the closeout discount in diapers and wipes. If you are doing a sprinkle, I would still try to make it special by sending invites to a virtual sprinkle so it’s still feels like people are invited.

I’m not sure if it’s a cultural thing but in Australia you only have a baby shower for your first baby anything after that is seen as a gift grab!

I put mine on Facebook and sent it out because I don’t have everyone’s number and I was glad I did because a lot of people found it on my Facebook that I forgot to send it to.

This is my second, and I posted mine online. 
I had several people ask me if I was doing a registry, which we originally weren't.. but people wanted to buy gifts, and I want my son to feel loved like my daughter did. 
I posted it on Facebook that I made an Amazon one and people just had to search my name if they were interested. 
We've already received about 20+ gifts from our registry, and have been blown away by the support. 
I thought it was going to come across as tacky, but people were great.

This is our second and we made a registry that we’ve shared with family directly only. I’d share it with anyone who asked, too. The freebies and completion discounts made it an easy choice to set it up even if we end up buying most of it for ourselves.

Do whatever you think is best. Since you’ve already had people ask, id make a registry and post it on FB saying how some people asked and you wanted to make it public or something along those lines.

I don’t see anything wrong with it. Obviously under these circumstances, mostly no one is able to have a baby shower. People shouldn’t feel obligated to buy anything but I don’t think it hurts to post for close family and friends. Or maybe make a group on Facebook and ask who’d like to be invited.
