Why doesn’t anyone talk about pregnancy constipation...

Almost 18 weeks pregnant, and I am SO constipated I want to cry when I’m in the bathroom it hurts so bad. This is also my first child, and I’ve never been constipated in my life until being pregnant 🙃😭 🆘 🆘🆘🆘🆘

Aside from medicine, have you looked into Squatty Pottys? Changed my LIFE. Poops have never been easier!

I see lots of people talk about it. Theres lots of remedies for it. More fluids, prune juice, colace,  etc.

Have you tried taking stool softeners or laxatives?

An apple (or apple juice or applesauce) a day helps tremendously!

My doctor gave me a list of safe medications... try collace. She said one in the morning and one at night, make sure you drink plenty of water. If that doesnt help, i will take milk of magnesium. Ive was suffering with constipation and im 13 weeks.

Just wait until you get diarrhea on top of your constipation

Yes! You can try eating lots of fiber and drinking lots of water. When that didn’t do it, my doc said to take docusate /colace. Said it’s safe to take up to 3x a day and can keep taking it as long as needed. I only take 1- 2 a day. I don’t really like taking any meds, but would basically not be able go without it!
