Does anyone live near lots of farmland?

I was reading about how people (especially kids) are more likely to get cancer when living close to farmland and now I’m concerned. I lived near farmland while pregnant and still do today. Does anyone know how true this is?

I grew up ON a farm, no cancer so far and same for my parents who were born into farm families.  If there are a lot of pesticides running off into your well water though, then yes, there’s definitely a reason to be concerned as cancer is becoming more and more prevalent in those situations.

How many pesticides are being used on the farmland near you? That’s the important information.

Lived on a farm for 17 years, no cancer so far. Lots of farmers/ranchers don't use pestiside or anything of that nature but I can assure you 90% of people in town use round up and other weed killers that have been proven to cause cancer, not to mention air pollution in cities. I don't think the fresh air of the countryside would kill you.

I come from generations of farmers, not a single one has had cancer and pretty much everyone lived well into old age, dying of natural causes.

I’ve lived in a farming town for over half my life and been around farms my entire life. My sons been in the same town I was raised for his entire life and were all fine including all my family

I grew up in a small town with a lot of farmland. I don’t know anyone personally with cancer but my mom still works at the school there and there’s always at least one kid with cancer. There is also a nuclear power plant on the east border of my hometown so...

our current house is registered as agricultural land. still fine. there are families in my community who have lived on the land ever since it was colonised and they don't have cases of cancer. it'll depend on the area as there are various common commercial treatments that can be harmful in long-term exposure. my neighbours who own farm related things mostly run private horse ranches or have small vineyards for their own consumption.
