Mother in law Plays favorites

My mother in law has been playing favorites to certain grandchildren for years now and my 18 month old son isn’t a favorite.

We used to live close by to her but just recently moved an hour away.

For Mother’s Day, my husband wanted us to visit her. She’s been home quarantined and so have we, so to make him happy I agreed.

We weren’t even there an hour when my husband’s brother and family did a “drive by” and dropped off a gift for her. They have been working still and didn’t want to be near anyone.

She comes back in the house hysterically crying. Yelling, screaming saying how difficult it is to be away from that grandchild and how it breaks her heart. Mind you, since we moved we haven’t seen her in 2 months and we drove an hour for this visit.

Her husband, clearly embarrassed by this, tells her to stop it, look at your little grandson who drove an hour just to see you on Mother’s Day. Be happy he is here.

She said yeah ok, but I miss (name of other grandchild)!!!

Can you believe that bitch?! I just sat there and shook my head. Not to mention her ridiculous scene scared my son and he wouldn’t even go near her the rest of our visit.

Just venting. But glad that my husband and father in law now also see what I’ve noticed all along.
