I've been on labetalol since 12 weeks, I'm currently 30+4. I started on 100mg 2x daily, when my BP started going up around 20 weeks they changed it to 200mg 2x daily, around 26 weeks they changed it to 300mg 2x daily. 29weeks 300mg 3x daily. The newer changes will lower my BP to 115-120/70-80 for a few days and then my BP will go creep back up. Now I've been admitted to L&D straight from my high risk appointment for BP of 164/88 (my norm this pregnancy has been 130s-150s/90s-100s. They kept me for 24 hours (I'm getting close to the end of that 24 hours) for observation, a 24 hour urine, NSTs and steroid shots. My blood labs look good, just waiting on my 24 hour urine to be tested now. They raised my Labetalol to 400mg 3x daily. Last night after my first new dose, my BP was 112/55, 115/55, and 110/50 (they gave me my next dose a lot later than they should have and the 110/50 was 13 hours after my previous dose). They gave me my next dose at 10AM and at 1PM my BP was 130/60 and then at 5PM it was 144/86. So I have questions for others on Labetalol or that were in the past.

Did you have problems with it working really well for a short period of time, only to creep back up?

Did/do your doctor's know why your BP did that?

Were you diagnosed with preeclampsia? If not what did happen?

My doctors don't seem to know what to make of my blood pressure issues... I'm having other symptoms of preeclampsia most of the time, but my labs so far haven't given them reason for concern. I had preeclampsia with my first and it went undiagnosed for around 2 months....
