Any c section moms?!?

I’ve had two natural babies so I have no idea what recovery is like for c sections. What are some of your must haves for recovery?

I had a laparotomy due to a cyst rupture. It cuts everything the same but not the uterus. 
Stool softeners and a belly band.

Ask for an abdominal binder immediately when you’re in the hospital. They will give you one. It Velcros around your middle and makes everything feel so much better. I wore mine for about 3 weeks. 
Don’t let your pain get out of control. Take your meds. Once it gets out of control, it’s harder to get it back in control again.

High waisted underwear and high waisted pants lol after my first I realized all my undies and pants had elastic right near the incision which is no bueno lol

You can get a postpartum girdle. I didn’t with my first two I just used the one from the hospital. But I feel like it gets gross from the incision. The one I got will basically help rebuild your abdomen and help prevent a hernia. (According to the posts that went with it... 🤷‍♀️). 
I also got leakproof underwear because it’s a damn mess after. I’ve only had c sections but compared to the women around me that have had vaginal births c-section mamas bleed longer and more..

Ask the nurse for an abdominal binder and have her help you put it on the first time so you know how to wear it. It gives you so much support. Get some depends lol I'm getting the cute girly ones that look like undies this time. They're just nice and stretchy and pull up over the incision. And then you can probably just use the rest of them for your first period after having baby because that can be pretty horrendous lol other than that, just wear whatever you're comfortable in.

A pillow and a tummy wrap! 
My hospital put the wrap on me right away so it wasn’t one I had to buy. It just made the incision area feel more stable as well as the belly. 
The pillow felt so good to hold on my belly and push against for stability if i was coughing, laughing, or in the car and my husband would turn too fast 😂 you don’t realize how much you tighten your stomach when turning in a car.

Lots of thick pads!! Of course your post partum clothing but seriously everything that’s loose fitting on your body.
