My 21 month old is practicing drinking from an open cup and she just tipped the cup back and inhaled so much water. A bunch of water came right back out, her eyes widened, and she was coughing a lot. Seemed like she had trouble breathing for like 15 seconds and then she started crying a lot.

She was getting ready to nap right before it happened and she was exhausted, so now she’s sleeping.

Can something like that cause dry drowning or secondary drowning?
