Quick short coughs

Hello all, my boy turns 6 months on 19th. From a couple of days, I noticed he is coughing but not like a regular cough. It’s very quick short coughs kh..kh..kh..kh..kh.. like that.. and he doesn’t have a runny nose or fever. Or is this cough at all? I don’t know.. I have a well visit coming up on 19th, I am going to ask the ped but in the mean time if you can understand what sound I am trying to describe here and you have seen it before, please let me know.
