Chamomile tea?

St

Stacey

So I found out I was pregnant about a week ago...yay!! One of my early cravings has been tea! Specifically chamomile. And to think I was actually drinking something beneficial, I researched and saw that it may possibly be not safe to drink herbal tea while pregnant? Has anyone had any issues drinking tea while pregnant? I will stop at this point until I get clarity on it.

You can't humanly drink enough chamomile tea to hurt yourself. In those studies, the mice were slathered with more of the compound than you could get access to. Drink up!

And you can drink hibiscus too. You’d have to drink very very very large amounts to be an issue.

From what I read, herbal teas are only considered unsafe if it's from like a mom and pop shop or farmers market type thing, because the FDA doesn't regulate herbal teas and you may be ingesting something potentially dangerous. But if you buy it from larger widely trusted companies you're fine.

I asked my doc bc I was drinking skit before I got pregnant and she said that u would have to drink a ton of the tea for it to do when. She reiterated like so much that would be hard to consume so she said it was safe.
