Is everyone else allowing family to see your babies?

Restrictions are being lifted where I live and we can now visit with immediate family. My son is 11 months old and my in laws have been asking if they can come over and see my son. No one has held him since the first week of March. My parent’s and sister are essential workers in health care, so they said they will be staying away for now. My in laws are retired, however, they have been visiting with my brother in law who is an essential worker. My husband wants to have them over tomorrow as it is my MIL’s birthday. I am just not completely sure that I am ready yet. There are still active cases that have been community spread in my small town. What is everyone else doing?

We are not doing any visitors. As things reopen, there’s going to be another spike. We don’t want to be a part of that spike.

Is give it some time (roughly 2 weeks) after reopening and keep an eye on the numbers in your area and take it from there

We are. We are allowed to visit friends and family now and cases are extremely low where we live. The family members we are seeing are not seeing anyone else and are not going out in public except grocery shopping. Our LO is also not a newborn.I wouldn’t if the case numbers were higher where we live and/or our family members were working with the public or in other ways in contact with other people.

We were very careful while we were at the peak of it. I’m in Canada and we have not had nearly the outbreak America has, I’m also not in a heavily populated area. We’re just starting to see ppl but everyone is being quite careful. As nerve racking as it is it’s really nice to be getting somewhat back to normal. I have coffee with a girlfriend today on her front porch, a few feet apart and no kids... it was so nice! We sat out there for 3 hours.

We are for my baby’s 1st birthday in a couple weekends. Everyone will be wearing a mask and we’re going to spend as much time as we can outside. It’ll be our first time seeing anyone since February.
