I been bleeding for a week now

So last Thursday I thought I started a week early on my period Cause my period tracker said the 14th I will start my menstrual but I saw my obgyn on Tuesday and she asked me if this really period I'm having I told her I'm not really sure but in the beginning I felt heavy pain and then it went away I thought it was now today mark a week now so she put me on oral birth controls to regulate my period but I believe when I was on the nuvaRing before it messed up my period !!
