Horrible midwife appointment !

Yesterday I went for my 38 week appointment at my hospital, my partner waited in the car for me and as soon as I got into the car he said I just looked really pissed of and thought something was up with baby. Actually, the midwife was just really rude to me for the whole appointment and it really upset me.

I already have severe anxiety and I think it’s complete acceptable to for it to get worse with everything going, when I spoke to her about it, he response was “well the baby has to come out somehow and we can’t make acceptions because everyone is everyone is anxious right now”. Then she kept commenting on my age, that young mums bounce back quicker and kept saying “all these 16 year olds having babies are back out at the parks with there friends the next day like nothing happened” (I’m 22 but I look younger).

She kept asking if I had any questions but when I asked her, I felt like I was asking stupid questions and her response was just sort of to get over it. When she asked about my next appointments I told her that I had a sweep booked for 40 weeks and she told me that they are pointless and just really uncomfortable...I just sat there like okay? What am I meant to do with that?

When I asked about if any changes had been made to birth partners in the hospital, she said “no, but I think there will be another spike so will probably change in the next couple weeks. It’s only going to get worse”

I was so upset after the appointment but now I’m angry, she shouldn’t have been that way, I was close to having a breakdown coming out of that appointment and I should not be made to feel like that this close to having my baby. She seemed like she had just given up and it was horrible!!

Sorry for the rant but this lady was horrible!
