Any tips for nighttime potty training?

My 4y/o has been daytime potty trained since he was 2 but can’t seem to hold it at night. We have tried limiting liquids at night and taking away the pull-ups, but he still has accidents 3-5 times a week. He doesn’t wake up when it happens, just sleeps in it. He sleeps like a rock, which is normally a good thing, but I’m not sure how to get him potty trained at night.

It’s a hormonal thing. There’s a hormone that develops after a certain age that triggers their bladders to hold urine during sleep. It’s normal for them to wet during the night until about 7 so dont stress it. It’ll happen on its own.

We were in the same boat but a friend suggested to wake up by daughter every 2 1/2 hours and taking her to the bathroom. It was challenging the first week but it worked and now she wakes up by herself to go potty at night. It took less than 3 months

I don't really have an advice, I can share my experience. My 4 year old was pretty trained at 2. And at the same time she started saying I don't want diapers, I am not a baby. So I generally ask her to pee right before she go to bed. She starts crying at night when she has to pee, earlier I could not understand but just took her and she peed then gradually she started holding throughout night. I also put a drying sheet on her side of bed because at that time she did have few accidents

We still do pull ups at night. My daughter usually holds it all night. Sometimes goes on her own in the morning. Sometimes we need to force her to sit down to go (we aim for first thing in the AM). Sometimes she’ll end up peeing in her pull up. We didn’t use pull ups one weekend a couple months ago (cause she was dry at night a few days in a row) and she wet the bed and then she had a set back during the day for like a month which was annoying. She’s getting better now holding it again most nights. I think this past week she only went in her pull up overnight once. I’ve offered her at night when we get dressed if she wants the pull up or undies. So she chooses. She was also going through some sleep issues waking up at night right around her 4th birthday. Crawling into bed with us. I was thinking that was her body maybe waking her if she had to go but I’m still not sure because now she’s been sleeping through the night again. I still give her milk at night which I’m trying to get her off of but she’ll pee before going to bed on her own now. I know I’ve heard and read that sometimes night training can take a long time. I can remember when I was a kid my mom getting me out of bed then taking me to the bathroom to pee (not sure how old I was). Sorry I couldn’t be helpful. Just know your not alone.

As annoying as it is, get rid of pull ups. They can’t tell when they wet themselves. I never used pull-ups and had my son night time potty trained in like 3 weeks when he was potty trained at 2. He had some accidents but he always woke me up to tell me because he was in wet underwear. We took away water or drinks about an hour before bed. Get a mattress pad for under his sheet so he doesn’t ruin his mattress and have extra sheets available to change in the middle of the night. Consistency is key too. And don’t make him feel bad for it. Shaming them makes it worse and they tend to do it MORE. You’ve got this mama! It will pass!
