Potty training 2 year old
So we have been working (slowly) on potty training. My daughter just turned two but baby #2 arrives in a few weeks and I don’t want both in diapers!
So we switched to “big girl panties” and we are at the point where she will sometimes pee in the potty but she’s usually going on her panties and then will waddle over to me and say “mommy potty!”.
Once she’s peed in her panties, she wants to sit on the potty to wipe. Same with poop. When I ask her (constantly) if she has to potty, she says no. And if I try to put her on the potty when she doesn’t have to go, she throws a fit and won’t stay on the potty.
I keep trying to gently encourage her to tell mommy BEFORE she goes potty but it seems to be too complex for her to understand. So I’m not sure what to do... I’m glad she knows what potty is and she likes sitting on the potty and we are having minimal success. Just not sure how to get her to tell me before she pees her pants.
