Moving to Atlanta area / social workers
Hello! I will be laid off at the end of the month from my social work job in NYC and we have decided to move down to Georgia to be closer to my boyfriends family, as I am 13 weeks pregnant. I’ve got a couple questions If anyone has some knowledge on these topics that would be wonderful! I will be living in McDonough until my boyfriend and I get jobs settled and what not.
1. I’m going to get insurance out of pocket with my boyfriend through USAA while I am not employed, so I want to pick an insurance that is accepted in a hospital that I want to give birth in. We were recommended and offered a couple different plans from Ambettwr and Blue Cross Blue Shield. My biggest question is what hospitals/doctors/obgyns have peoooe used or delivered at that they would recommend? This is my first child so I’m pretty overwhelmed with these decisions as well as I don’t know anyone in the area as I’m from out of state. I would really appreciate any advice or opinions on places to get medical care for my little one. It’s really important to my boyfriend and I that he can be involved as in NYC, he has been unable to attend any appointments and I want him with me.
2. Are there any social workers on here? I would also like to see if anyone has any recommendations on places to work or apply to? I have spent a majority of my career working with adolescents and families and in child welfare.
