How many weeks?

Question

I went for my 12 week 1 day US, and baby was measuring at 12 weeks 4 days so my due date changed to November 7th from November 10th, do I still go based off my LMP, or can I go based off the new DD?  One puts me at being 15 weeks tomorrow and the other I’ll still be 14 weeks for a few more days. Not much of a difference but just curious!

If they didn't tell you a new due date you continue using lmp. Baby has consistently measured 2-4 days ahead (my doctor ran 2 measurements at both my ultrasound appts and one said 2 days the other said 4 depending om babies position) but they kept mind based off of lmp.

My LMP due date was Oct 31. I had a dating scan around 6-7 weeks that moved my due date to Nov. 10.  My 12 week scan would have moved it to Nov. 5, but my doctor says the first scan is usually the most accurate so I am sticking with Nov. 10.  I also am telling myself that due dates don’t mean that much - it is just a super rough ball park!

The typically don’t change your due date after the initial dating scan. You will measure a little ahead or a little behind your entire pregnancy. Most people don’t measure exactly throughout their pregnancy. Use the date your dr is using. If they didn’t say “we are moving your estimated due date to _____”, then it hasn’t changed, and how you measured doesn’t matter.

I had my 12 week ultrasound yesterday and baby measured 12 weeks 4 days which would put my due date 2 days earlier, the tech said they don’t usually change due dates unless baby measures 5 days or more ahead. Did you have an earlier ultrasound as well? I had one at 7 weeks 2 days and she said those are usually more accurate for dating as babies go through a growth spurt around 12 weeks.

From what I understand is they don’t usually change your actual due date unless it’s a week or more difference from your lmp, but I think it depends on the situation. Did they tell you it changed?
