What were your baby’s signs of reflux?

My LO is almost 6 weeks old and for the 6 weeks he’s never been able to sleep on his back. He immediately starts coughing and grunting and it almost sounds like he’s choking then it wakes him up and he cries/screams. He only sleeps if he’s laying on me, sometimes he still grunts but it’s not nearly as bad. I have tried everything under the sun - inclined mattress, bicycle kicks, upright after feeding, pace feeding, gas drops, etc. and I’ve tried so many different formulas and nothing has made even the slightest difference. We’ve been to the doctor twice and they’ve suggested various formulas that we tried but still nothing helps. We’re going back today but I’m worried they’ll suggest medicine and he just seems so young, wondering if anyone experienced these symptoms and had their baby on medicine and everything be okay?
