Anterior placenta ???

Question

So I had a scan done at 12 weeks 2 days and on the paper work it says my placenta is growing anteriorly ! I’m gutted as I know I won’t be able to feel baby move for a while but was looking at my scans and it looks like placenta is underneath baby??? I thought if it was anterior it would be on top of baby ??

I’m Not sure what do you ladies think ? I’m getting a scan in 3 weeks and I’m gonna ask then . But for now . Thoughts ?

This is my scan from 11w6d and was also noted an anterior placenta..... I highly doubt the tech would be incorrect. This however is my 3rd and last baby and first time having an anterior placenta.... kinda bummed that I won’t get to experience everything as quickly as I did with my son who was my second, but as long as baby is healthy, I’m happy and will enjoy every moment (even if it takes a little longer)

I have a posterior placenta and the placenta is in the other side of the scan.  A little up my baby’s head.

Not sure, but I had an anterior placenta with my first baby and first felt her move about 18/19 weeks. Definitely felt her at 21+ weeks.

It means it’s at the front wall of your tummy, so if the baby kicks it will be kicking then placenta so you won’t feel it as much, rather than at the back wall near you spine. It causes no problems, just means it might take a bit longer to feel it kick and for so doctors to find the heart beat!
