‼️Update‼️ OHSS - Emergency Surgery Again

La

—Update—

I had emergency surgery again yesterday morning where another 2 Liters of excess fluid was removed. As of now I have a floating liver and fluid remaining at the base of my lungs.

I am hyper focused on my health and recuperation. Drinking a Gatorade every hour, eating big salty protein rich meals, and munching on salty snacks in between. I am peeing a lot- but I guess that’s what is going to help me get rid of the fluid still inside.

I have another appointment tomorrow morning to determine if I need another surgery 🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽 hopefully not!!

My OHSS has now been categorized as severe. This has been a roller coaster since retrieval- physically and emotionally. I’ve run through my sick days at work and am now using unpaid sick days but I don’t care. I just want to be healthy again. 😢

Hi ladies

This has been quite the unexpected journey. Just as I though my condition was improving, I was even walking! My condition took a debilitating turn.

This morning I woke up with horrendous pain, weakness, nausea, shortness of breath and chest pain.

I called my doctor right away, and she called in staff members to see me right away. My husband carried me into the car- I literally could not walk.

They started with an ultrasound - everything was to be expected- large ovaries, excess fluid. My fluid in my pelvic area was a 77mm. They said in order to consider the fluid removal surgery, they needed to see at least 100mm.

I was disappointed ☹️ how could this not be worst case scenario what I was feeling. The ultrasound tech then moved the wand towards my upper body and that’s where she saw alarming stuff

There was 100mm of fluid surrounding my liver and my lungs. I needed to get into surgery immediately. I was scared, nervous, and hopeful as they said the surgery would make me feel instantly better.

I’m so glad to have had to husband there to help me, from changing into the scrubs to getting into the wheelchair. They put me under anesthesia and I woke up not having felt a thing!

The doctor said she removed 2Liters of excess fluid inside me, but that there was more to remove. I’ll have to wait a few days and focus on sitting and walking in order for the fluid around my lungs to come down to the pelvic area for removal. I stayed for monitoring for probably 45min.

I literally felt 100x better, I could breath, I didn’t have pain, I didn’t feel like body torso was going to explode lol

I’m so grateful for the medical team that came in such a short notice to take care of me. For now, I’m resting eating salty goodies and drinking Gatorade.

This has been quite the journey
